Fund houses in India can no longer invest in foreign stocks or mutual funds as they have exceeded the aggregate investment limit of $7 billion. They can still invest in offshore ETFs, for which there is a separate limit of $1 billion (except here for fund companies whose individual sub-limits have been exhausted). However, this $1 billion limit could also be exhausted soon.
