Mexico City, Mexico, November 3, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Volaris (the “Company”) (NYSE: VLRS and BMV: FLY), the very low cost airline serving Mexico, United States, Central and South America report his October 2021 preliminary traffic results.
In October 2021, passenger demand (RPM) in Mexican domestic and international markets for Volaris increased by 26.2% and 23.9%, respectively, compared to October 2019. The Company took advantage of the strong market demand to add capacity (ASM), both nationally (+ 24.9%) and internationally (+ 24.7%), while maintaining a factor of high load (86.3%). In October 2021, Volaris carried 2.3 million passengers, 22% more than pre-pandemic levels.
Last month we launched routes in Volaris El Salvador for Mexico, Cancun, and San Pedro Sula (Honduras). In addition, we announced the integration of two new routes from Felipe Angeles – from Santa Lucía airport to Cancun and Tijuana, the start of operations of which is planned in March 2022. Felipe Angeles – Santa Lucía airport will be Volaris 44e station in Mexico and will not affect the operations and growth strategy of the Company to Mexico International airport.
