ORLANDO, Florida – Orlando resorts are preparing to hire hundreds of people as a busy tourist season is expected, especially with the return of international travel.
Loews Hotels at Universal will hire 700 people as they prepare for a busy holiday season.
“There are a lot of tourists who really want to come back to Orlando and we are delighted that they are visiting us,” said Shawn German, regional director of human resources for Loews Hotels.
Loews Hotels at Universal will be hosting a two-day recruiting event on Wednesday and Thursday. You can register and find more information here.
The resorts are preparing by hiring and training now because the state expects a wave of tourists, especially with the return of international travel.
The United States will allow more international travelers to the states starting in November, provided they are fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19.
“We have already been fortunate to be busy this year with domestic demand, but now with the international demand to come we are looking to add staff, we know we will have a busy holiday season,” German said.
Visit Orlando also predicts that this will make the travel season very busy.
“We are certainly seeing pent-up demand from our overseas markets. There is real enthusiasm in returning to travel to the United States and especially to Orlando,” said Denise Spiegel of Visit Orlando.
Pre-pandemic figures show international travelers spend more than $ 6 billion a year in Central Florida.
“International travelers are very important to Orlando because they stay longer and spend more money,” Spiegel said.
